Will a new ho alt the big 3 and a secondary battery be enough

Not to be an ***, but if you have to ask, you shouldn't be doing something that big. Let alone, if you can't even do the install. But, that's just how I feel. Misfit gave you TONS of good information, and some of the best was starting small and going bigger. But, if your going to do your own thing, and go that big, there are definitely some things you should know. The rule of thumb is 100amps worth of battery for every 1000w you are running. Grab around a 250a alternator (DC Power makes some great alts, but you can also check out mechman, ohio, etc), depending on the size of your car 50-100ft of 0g. Definitely get a trunk pack, and door pack of sound deadener. (Check out Second Skin, great stuff and nice on your pockets). I would sell those Kenwood and MB Quart comps, and check out some companies such as CDT, Focal, PPI PC356s, etc. Will sound much better, and louder. Good luck though...

thnx bro yeah im getting alot of good info here thnx to all the guys here that have contributed like u. im saving all the info will upgrade to focal eventually. Im the type of guy that if im not happy with the sounds im just going to upgrade later that would be even more wasteful. i think i might as well do it right the first time thats why im on here to learn as much as possible.I cant do the install your right but im not trying to learn it either im not into it as much as some people here yeah i love great sound but im not that in love where i would learn how to install im sure there are plenty guys here in cali that love to do it and are good at it

I don't blame the OP for paying someone to build in his vehicle. I wouldn't be tinkering around in a Lexus if I didn't know what I was doing either.

The OP is going about this in a somewhat intelligent way. He's trying to learn the things he doesn't know so he can avoid major problems. I assume he's going to use what he learns to pick the equipment he needs, and then he's simply going to pay someone to install it cleanly/correctly for him. There's nothing wrong with that.

If I didn't enjoy building, I wouldn't build shit...

There will be some members here in Cali that may be able to help.

Until then, feel free to ask any questions.

For that amount of power I would recommend a reliable H/O alty, a Kinetic 1400 or larger in the front and the same in the back. 2 runs of 0gauge should do you just fine.

What are you trying to run? What are your goals?

Best of luck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
