Will a Kicker 2500 work on a btl?

For any amp over 2000 watts I would recommend a 2nd battery, upgraded wiring, and a new alternator if you can swing it.

Lots of people have ran the zx2500 at 1 ohm, including myself. The only time I got mine to shut off was when I had the car off and was doing a bunch of testing. With the car on (even at idle) I never had a problem.

Car has 2 gauge wire and a second battery. It is the stock alt for now because he is looking to get a new car soon so he isn't gonna upgrade this.

Ok so I have a 15" inch dual 2 ohm btl which means It will be running around 1 ohm. Box rise and such will put it closer to 2 ohms. I have an oppertunity to get a kicker 2500 cheap but it doesn't say it is stable at 1 ohm. Does anyone know if these will run at 1 ohm or not?

i could not get mine to run @ 1 ohm. but many have. even when it only dropped to 13V it would cycle in/out of protect.

the amp is a good match for the btl though.

I ran my old kx 2500.1 at 1 ohm (.7ohm nominal) off 2 red tops, 90 stock 90 amp alty, and 2 runs of 1/0awg with a chasis ground. It'd dip down to 12v-11.8v full tilt. Took it like a champ and only got warm after lots of of play. With a decent sized stock alty, 2 bats, and 1/0 you should be fine
