Will a bad ground cause...

My car to violently shake when the fan/AC is turned on? It seems to only shake though when the air is set to the ground/defroster. It's the stock ground... and holy shit is the wire thin and is the ground bad... its bolted to a piece of painted metal that's bolted to the painted body of the car, LOL (thanks stock Mazda).

Oh, and I got a wiring kit from KnuKonceptz, the KOL-AK4 wiring kit... can I snip a little bit off that ground wire to just replace the ground wire in my car?
