Will 4 awg work for this....

If the amp is only going to be used for a daily driver then you should be fine, but if you plan on using this for any comps as well as daily bumping then you need to go with the 0/1 like the amp was designed for.
Well, the amp was designed for 2awg, but Im only going 1.5-2ft, which is why I ask. I have plenty of 4awg, no 0awg left, and cant find short pieces of 2awg.

Anyone else?

dude, you did the research for yourself now stop being nervous and DO IT! I mean look at how small a fuse is, if you can pass current through a fuse over that inch then you can pass that current through 4ga. wire over 2feet. think of it that way

That chart is only calculating voltage drop. The over-riding factor is current. Regardless of how short your 4 ga is it is only intended for 125A.

Zapco recommends a 175A fuse at the amp, so you need at least 2 ga wire.

yeah, and what happens when that fuse tries to pass too much current?? It heats up, red hot and opens, and since it is encapsulated in air and glass/plastic no harm is done. Too much current through 4 ga won't end quite so well. It will heat up, melt off the insulation, and burn whatever's in the vicinity.

Unless you're never going to listen at more than 1/2 volume I think it's a bad idea.
