Wii Vs. Ps3

Turning 28 this sunday wondering what everyone here prefers. I have a blu ray so that part is not needed for the ps3. I have not had a gaming system since the sega genesis. Let me know what you guys like.

I have played them both, and if I had to choose one, it would be the PS3. Simply because I have a feeling the novelty of the Wii would wear off after a while. PS3 is just as addicting as the PS2, but with much, and I mean MUCH, better graphics. Especially if played on the right screen.

i own the wii, and i love it BUT! it doesnt have the greatest selection for games..yet. i have legend of zelda twilight princess, super smash bros. brawl, and mario kart wii. its definately a fun and different way of gaming but most of the games are focused more towards kids and young teenagers. dont get me wrong, its alot of fun and im glad i got one.

This question gets asked so much. It depends what games you really play, and how you play it. Do you need something that you can play with the family/group of friends a lot? Or something for yourself mainly. I think the wii is only fun in groups/party/family/friends.

yea I played the baseball and bowling games and thought they were fun but I too thought the novelty would wear off, I am into mostly racing games or adventure no into third person shooters.

The Wii is more oriented to the kids. Not as much as grown or adults. I got the PS3 because of the type of games, and Blu Ray. I am a hardcore racer on the games, and had most for PS2, so I will continue on the PS3 as well. And other sames are cool too, like UT3, Oblivion, and so on.

When I'm working at gamestop, I always tell people to get an xbox 360 over any of the other ones, but if you are deciding between the ps3 and wii heres somethings to take into consideration.

If you have a family, the wii will most likely allow EVERYONE in your family to play, regardless of age.

The PS3 doesn't have a great library of games yet and most of the ps2 games won't even work on it (you have to buy the 80gb version for backwards compatibility)

The Wii is a lot harder to find.

PS3 is 2-3x expensive (depending on model)

PS3 games are more expensive

Wii has some great titles that were just released

PS3 supports 1080p with HDMI cables, Wii is only 480p

Really I would rate the systems like this: 360, Wii, PS3, but it is all personal preference. Really it depends on what type of games you like. You say you like racing and adventure games, I'd probably pick up the Wii with Zelda and Mario Kart.

I think it's possible to get tired of the Wii... although it is very fun and I don't own one and have only played it at friends houses... but I would go with the PS3.

Own a PS2 and a Wii. Not a real gamer, but the Wii is pretty kewl. I have not really played any real games on it, BUT I think, given the choice, Id go with the PS3. I only have a Wii because my daughter wanted one. It does have a neat feature where you create whats called a Mii (a character that you create for yourself) and they show up in your games. BUT, to my suprise, there is no DVD player in the Wii without using a hack.

if you are a even somewhat of a gamer dont get a wii, the wii is pretty much for partys only

the ps3 has much more gamer ....games

Uhhh. I like my Wii a lot, but it is definitely better suited as a secondary console. Nintendo has their solid first party games, and there are a few third party gems here and there. However, the PS3 will take off soon with MGS4, GT5, Final Fantasy Xii, and has a plethora of downloadable games.

forget them both and do like the guy that works at gamestop says, get a 360 elite. bigger hard drive, unparalleled online play, better graphics, more better games, and you can get lots of cool add-ons that fit the things you do with it.
