wierdproblem after dual alt install...

i went and played around a minute ago, and the idle does seem lower

went dual alternator on my maverick a few years back and had the same issue...

I noticed that when the power demand went up on the charging system, the light would go off

when you raise rpm to ~2000, does the light turn off?

I wont lie, I didnt want to leave it running too long, I turned it on enough to get measurements,then killed it, i didnt experiement, I thought id try and wait fo r some more suggestions, or to hear from dom iraggi

As long as your not going over 14.7 you shouldnt have any worries about frying your electrical.Your idle should be around 800rpm.

What size is the pulley on the alt?

I have an Iraggi 300 amputator on my jeep and needed a smaller pulley then usual.

so i went and drove it, after about 10 seconds the lightquit coming on..

I got back home, and sat there, in park for 3 minutes, while I checked voltages

the light never came back on, and all voltages shower 14, both alts, and the batt

so.. meh

maybe I just drained to battery or some ish while I was working on it

most v8's idle around 500-600 when warm. you could change the size of the pulley to increase the rpm's of the alt at idle

^^Don't know about them running that low. most i've seen where 7-800rpm.But the pulley swap would change the ratio.If your at 14 at warm idle i wouldn't worry,maybe just throw the charger on them over night.Dom will tell you you shouldn't use it as a battery charger.

sorry, Ive been away from the internet..

everythin's good now, it only did it a couple of times, i drove it to town and back, no issues after that, dom said they will do that if the battery is low (I discharged it once, on accident durring install)

he said hes seen it before, and with the violtages I had, it wasnt an issue

the dummy light hasnt come back on since

i had the same problem on mine, except mine was on constantly, i figured it was the internal regulator, it was it burnt up all 3 of my batts so if i was you i would contact irragi, thats wat i did and i sent it in to him if fixed it in half a day and now its on the way back to me, when you bought the alts did they have the lifetime warranty?
