wierd tweeter buzzing.

my passenger door tweeter is making this buzzing noise all the time now, but it gets louder as i accelerate....and as the car downshifts and what not. it basically gets louder the higher my rpms go...what can i do to fix this? am i in need of a whole new tweeter?

Yeah its a ground loop problem; I have suffered through the same symptoms.

There are a couple of things you can try though. (1) Go to a local shop and see if you can test a ground loop isolator. It connects into the RCA's between your HU and amplifier. If it gets rid of the whine then drop the 15 bucks and get it. (2) Ground your HU to the chassis and ground all amps/eq's/caps/etc. to the same point. Make sure the grounds are tight metal on metal contact. (3) I helped my friend this summer install an amp and he had the same problem whenever his Pioneer deck had the loud or the subsonic filter turned on. Perhaps try turning all settings on your hu off and see if the noise goes away (kindof doubtful, but possible).

In my case, the ground loop isolator got rid of my noise, but I felt (perhaps wrongly, I don't know) that it was slightly deteriorating my sound. This summer I moved both amps to the trunk and grounded them to the same point. I now have zero noise.
