Wierd Sound Comin Out of Subs

I own a Blaupunkt 300Wrms Amp and 2 eclipse 10" 300Wrms 4ohm subs. At this moment I am only using one sub because my amp is unable to handle a 2ohm load. When i sit up front (in my Blazer) or in the passenger's seats the sub sounds really nice. But when i go to the back and listen to them there is this really wierd noise. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif It is hard to explain what it sounds like but almost a "pop" or a "high pitched thud".

(The noise got louder as i broke my subs in.)

It has been like this since my first install from the very beginning. I have always used 10 inch subs. Does anyone know why they could be doing this?

If I am understanding what your "sound" is then I'm with you, my subs have been making that noise lately too and it seems that the more I broke them in the worse it got...

i've never come across a problem like that. the only remedy i can think of is to make sure you have a low pass filter either on the amp or the headunit to make sure the sub is only seeing frequencies lower than 100hz or so. let me know if this helps, and good luck. peace.

Do you have the gain or bass boost cranked? Just a thought...

I suggest setting your amp's gain with the gain setting tutorial at the top of the amplifier forum. I believe what you're hearing is the subs "bottoming out" or over excurting.
