as far as sq goes i dont think you're going to notice to much distortion coming from your sub with very many amps. so its really either or, or whichever is cheaper

Those subs need about 400 - 500 watts to sound clean and crisp, go with an amp that does this.

I listen to the sub very low on volume I mean I have to check sometimes to see if my sub is working.... so even at low volumes the sub will sound better with a more powerfull amp that is not being used at its full potential?

No it's going to sound the same. But will have the potential to get louder due to the extra power. Out of the two you listed I would choose to run the p3001. It is a very solid amp.

I don't know what you mean by "economical". But it will actually produce a bit less power than the Fosgate. They are close enough to just pick the unit you think looks better and is cheaper. If you don't like a lot of bass output, you can always lower the volume/gain...

There isnt much SQ to take into account when dealing with an amplifier for a subwoofer, mainly because distortion is pretty inaudible when it comes down to the subsonic tones. As to reliability and what not, they are both great amps. I would pick the cheaper of the two, you will get nothing "more" from either amp.

SQ - boils down to everything you listed. Mainly the build quality of the amp. So neither one can claim to have better SQ.

Build quality - Would have to remain equal. Both are of great build quality.

Reliability - again equal.

The Jl is actually rated at 200 @ 2ohms with 12.5v

The Fosgate is rated at 300 @ 2ohms with 14.4 - but is Highly under rated

With them both being so close in quality, get the cheaper one.
