Why you chose a XXX over a Brahma

The brahma... is a little less expensive.

Are you sure? Since RE doesn’t list direct prices on their site, I’m using numbers posted on this forum, but they seem to contradict you on this point (for sizes above 10")… unless the Adire price includes shipping, or something to that effect.

They charged me $30 ea to ship my XXX 15's. I agree the Brahma is generally cheaper, but usually only by $10-$20, not enough to base the decision on imo. I agree application and power available should determine which one you go with.. and person preference of course.

I do agree that any price difference between the two is so small that it shouldn't factor into one's decision at all. I'm just curious about this.

btw. 15" xxx is 453 shipped. or at least it was for my friend.

By looking at the graph I would chose a brahma, those higher frequencies are really needed for my rock music. Some guy did a review and he said the XXX isnt too great in the higher frequencies. But the again, as the adire guy mentioned, the XXX handles a little more power and I prefer the look of the XXX. I prefer the look so much that I would rather chose the XXX over the Brahma since its in my camaro and always visible. The magnums though, Ive heard too many great things. This is a hard choice.

According to that graph, the XXX doesn't dip below the Brahma until well above 100hz. You shouldn't low pass your sub that high no matter type of music you listen to. Leave the midbass to the midbass drivers.

yea, xover that high will really pull the bass to the back... xover as low as possible - as much midbass up front as ya can.

Anyways, they still sound the same to me. Both in similiar boxes with about the same amount of power. Played 4 or 5 tracks. Both bass'd. Both sounded **** clean.

Guess its a matter of look and price.
