How can you even type that? You yourself try to call attention to yourself with those overly big rims. My car is completely stock out side. And i have pix to prove it. I hate ricers...plain and simple.Because they are attention *****s. That's all they care about. I built my system around me. What I liked, and my friend builds what other people will like:waycrazy:
I told him he just does it for attention, and he had the nerve to think I was being an ***???
Same reason 95% of the people out there fix up their cars. For attention. It makes them feel good about themselves when other people compliment them.
I try to understand the whole self fixation , but have yet to do so...
but why does loud bass mean "showing off."agreed. I love heavy bass for a few minutes, just to see people in my car cringe when a 30hz tone rips through their chest and can be heard clearly outside the car at long distances. But when I listen to anything for more than a minute, I turn it way down to a reasonable level and my friends are always like wtf man?!?! I just roll my eyes.
Id guess those kids havnt heard that many systems. All anyone cares about around here is the bass. I have yet to see an amplified component system in any of my freind's cars. Theyre all Best buy Pioneer 4-ways running off the stock radio //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gifbut why does loud bass mean "showing off."
I have had some hs kids(i am their guidance counselor) listen to my car. They love what they hear, but it isn't the loud bass that was "shown off."
It might be all they hear, but the more SOME people hear nice, well balanced systems, the more nice, well balanced systems will be out there.Id guess those kids havnt heard that many systems. Yes I am aware of this... im a junior in high school, built the system in my sig with all my own cash, and im upgrading it too!untrue...you cant generalize all teens into that category. sure some just get some no name brand subs and and turn them all the way up w/o even hearing the music, but not all people are like that.
and not all HS students can afford all the extras, like an amplifier for their comps.
i am running my kicker comps off of my HU for now because i cant afford the extra costs and money to buy an amp, wiring kit, and installation.
my comps can keep up off of my HU as long as my bass isnt up all the way (nor should it be).
i plan on upgrading my comps to edi6500s and getting an amp to match along w/ it...but thatll take a couple weeks to work off.
i bought all of my system (everything in sig) w/ my own money that i worked for. its hard to get everything you want when the avg. HS kid can only get close to min. wage jobs. i was just lucky enough to be smart and get quality stuff.
I understand what you are saying about HS kids not always having a ton of money, BUT I have met some who certainly could have afforded to amp their fronts if they had gone with 1 sub instead of 3-4, and a big amp for them. It is just a matter of priorities and the smartest way to spend the cash.untrue...you cant generalize all teens into that category. sure some just get some no name brand subs and and turn them all the way up w/o even hearing the music, but not all people are like that.

Being in HS is still way way cheaper than college. You have tuiton, books, booze...you make double but your expenses triple.
most HS kids dont have the intelligence to know how to spend money, nor what to do w/ it. they look for things that will grab every1s attention...I understand what you are saying about HS kids not always having a ton of money, BUT I have met some who certainly could have afforded to amp their fronts if they had gone with 1 sub instead of 3-4, and a big amp for them. what? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gifwell my son isn't so sure about the addition of a 5.25" sub in the dashboard and removing the extra midbass drivers from the doors, getting rid of the kick panels since I have a limited space for legroom. He thinks that with the upgrade of the K2P's, the addition of the 13KS, will not hit as hard. Like I care.
I don't know of many people who buy all Focal speakers for SPL.
I could be wrong, but SPL sounds like 4 XXX 15's, and two 2500D's powering them.
