WHY would it blow Solo Baric L7???

IN my previous reply I meant ot say second sub and not second amp. Also would you think a low end amp like the JBL would blow the sub??

it is the 2nd most clip happy amp i've ever worked with. behind the Eq modded amps it is insane how clip happy that jbl can be very easily. so yes as i've said before it can easily blow the sub. may i ask are your electric's stock??

All I can say is that a single silver Kicker Solobaric L7 can take more than 1K watts for daily driving. yeah he's right.. i had 2k watts going to mine.. alot.. and i want on BIG trips.. 3 or 4 solid hours of over 75 mph driving so i had volume at 3/4 most of the time.. and they are FINE

in fact i actualy started to crack the wood of the box and things in my car were breaking, and my subs looked new as the day they came *(minus the scratches from when i broke the screws loose and the sub fell)*

gainmaster or volume master.

that and the fact that jbl amps ****. i dont care about price that bad, i'll spend another 50 bucks and get something worth having.

thank you one of the only other guys on the forum who has ran as much or more power to L7's than me. yeah i split my box apart and figured that i wanted 12"s or 10"s anyway so i got my custom Re subs.

haha no problem dude..

kids get their stereos installed by local idiots or do it themselves and wonder why a sub doesnt sound good.. and to tell you the truth i think that these digital programs are kinda crappy too *(The box size calculator things)* cuz there are always variables that those cant account for..

nothing like good ol trial and error.

dont get me wrong.. i've prolly blown 5 or 6 L7s before i got the new silver coned ones because the corners weren't durable at all.. but that hasnt been a problem since like 2001 or so.. just gotta have CLEAN power..

and us amps is CLEAN power.

yep so is my MMATS D300hc or at least i think it is?? i actually had a 01' prototype with the longer progressive spider and a few other goodies in it hehe. that thing took the 1750 rms all day and night which as you know the 01's wouldn't take, like i said i was splitting the 3/4" MDF apart on the port enough to where i could stick my finger through it.

this only goes to show that i was right ......... (Just playing)

But I think kicker does not make good subs

The L7 are there top of the sub and he blew one in a day

I have seen some one blow a hole the size of a baseball in the cone of one

Hey man end ur worries and get a kove or an audiobahn or a memphis there are so many better subs out there for the money

lol an opinion on subs coming from a master p fan. i can promise you this i did a higher score with a single L7 15" than you could do with almost any memphis or audiobahn sub. if recall correctly and i know i do kicker especially the L7 has won more SPL and Sq comps than i do believe any other woofer but i could be wrong although i know they have won more comps than audiobahn, memphis, or kove.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif. oh and blowing a hole the size of a baseball, lemme see i smell bullshit b/c i have ran 2 D300hc's to a single L7 15" and that is what close to 4kw to that sub 1750 per coil and it handled it fine for burps with no wear on the cone nor did it ruin the spider, or suspension. oh and to mention your obviously not a very smart guy seeing as how the L7 is not kicker's "top of the line sub" if you knew anythign about audio you would know the new Kicker Solo X is, oh and is winning dbdrag comps left and right doing over 175db's in Michael Hughes yellow van.

adam

what are you going to use.. a memphis LVS?

those are shitboxes..

they sound like a huge fart. no joke.. they are hands down the WORST s.q. sub ever. you could get a better sound out of a pyle.

and as far as any other memphis sub goes, no competition. L7 owns.

well, install has a lot to do w/ how the kickers perform, and so does the $$$ aspect that Kicker can afford to shell out. But still, Kicker is nasty.. but how many privateers do you see w/ Kicker L7's?

Well hmm last year alone i blew up 6 12" l7's yeah i know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif but warrenty's rock =P I tried many different experiments with them and they can handle power more so than 750 rms problem is abuse wise id have to say no. 4 of the 6 solobaric deaths i managed to do were from turning up the gain and sad thing is i didnt even turn them up that high.. over all its a nice sub I wouldnt personally get them again ..Im done with kicker and im on the Diamond Audio Bandwagon atm =P M6 is really a great sub they are rated at 800 rms and suprisingly enuff they hit just as hard as my solos did..in some area's even better, but the sound quality is so much more amazing and im loving it..abuse wise they are nice as well i think they have taken more of a beating than my l7's and they are still pounding great!

My experience with L7's suggest that in a proper enclosure, they can take obscene amounts of power. Of course, if the amp is driven to clipping, it's going to fry the sub. Same if it's in an improper enclosure.

Does the JBL really clip that bad? I've got mine on a 15" XXX and it hasn't at all..haven't noticed any distortion unless I crank the volume on my alpine 7894 to like 23 and have the gains almost all the way up.
