Why won't these speakers turn on??

Ok, so my friends dad decides to go ahead and use this expensive harness.

The grand am is a "monsoon" and apparently this means that I there is a smaller amp in there somewhere BECAUSE instead of hooking up speaker wires it has 2 sets of RCA's to hook up...awesome right? Apparently not...

I get it all hooked up and no sound...so i start to think that there is no amp...i cut the RCA off with about 3 inches of wire if it ends up being wrong, hook up where the speaker wire should be...still nothing...

I'm so confused, help me.

Ok, this wiring harness has 2 sets of RCA's instead of 8 wires for your 4 speakers.

I plug in RCA's and get nothing

I assume there is no amp, bypass RCA's and hook then up to the regular speaker wires coming from the harness on the HU, still nothing

Does the speakers going into the HU have RCA's, or is the wiring harness you bought have RCA's out to the speakers?

That's what I wanted to say, but he doesn't say whether there is an aftermarket hu/amp involved.
