Because ignorant Mf'ers think that its a racist thing when in turn its not IMO. I for one could care less about the flag, its shows no sign of "racism" to me or affects me in anyway. Heck like said before, black fought on both Fvckin sides? smh..... To me its only as racist as the person who is carrying it, not every person with the confederate flag is. I know plenty of white guys and have white friends who own them but we talk and chill and never have issues. The black people who say something is racist or play the race card for every issue are usually the ones who are the most racist. Im not saying it doesnt exist, im just saying i dont care.

All this crap over the Flag and Gays is just a distraction.

Because the flags reintroduction into modern culture in the middle of the last century, after a hundred or so years of being culturally forgotten, was indeed racist. What's ignorant is to fly the flag as a representation of yourself and your ideals and not know the history of said flag. It's like people getting tattoos of **** just because it's popular and have no idea of what that symbol means. Now we are all ignorant about something and so if you choose this to be your particular brand of ignorance then that is your prerogative but don't get butt hurt when people who aren't ignorant decide that flying a flag with a very recent racist history isn't a good ******* idea. Personally I know that a lot of younger people that fly this flag aren't racists but I am amazed how none of these people actually do their research on their flag BEFORE they claim it as theirs. Stop being butthurt about it and read up on it. Now if you choose to stay ignorant about it cool, but stop whining when people just assume you're racist for flying a flag that just 60 yrs ago meant that you thought non whites weren't full citizens or humans
