Why sealed?

OK Im kind off a noob so please bear with me. Im planning on getting these subs...

And Im planning on making a box for them. Everybody/sub box calculators keep telling me to make a sealed box. Why is that?

The sub's specs determine the kind of box it needs.

p2's will do way better in a ported box. Give em' around 1.75-2.00 cubes a piece, tune it around 32-34 and you'll be all good. You won't get the output you're looking for with a sealed box. Trust me...
