Why no new high end Pioneer HUs for 2007?

Was hoping to get something comparible to the 7800 or 9800 only with direct Ipod connection. Why are the Pioneers freshened only up to the 6900 level?

Pioneers top models especially the 880 are really nice.

x2. I always notice Alpine fans scrambling to get older models that shined. And lots of times, I'm like "Wait a minute... wasn't this Alpine HU out just last year?"

pioneer has done this before, hence why there is no 8700. last year there was only the 7700 and then this year they came with the 880.

Pioneer doesn't release the Upper models until mid-spring. The same thing was done last year with the 780 880 and 980BT. They were released mid April iirc, wait until then.

They are not releasing anything higher. The 880 and 980 are still the same. But i do believe there will be a new 7900 with BT. But i'm not sure.
