A good waste of money! If you need a 6"+ midrange for anything around that price, you are way better off buying one of the ScanSpeak Illuminator drivers (18WU, for example). If you want a 6" subwoofer, there's a lot better as well for WAY less.

Why is it so expensive? Because sometimes it is easier to make less product and move less with larger margins....less work, same amount of money (especially once you've established a name).

edit: Efficiency and Sensitivity aren't the same thing, either.

morel has lower cost speakers not everything is soo expencive. they are probley hand made in a non 3rd world country.

Everything and nothing are only worth what someone is willing to pay.

I dont think a 6 inch sub with 200 watts handling can be worth 600 dollars, when you can spend 600 and get some of the best 12 or 15 inch subs on the market for that price.

Which subs would these be? Why do they have to be 10s or 12s ?

It's not about spl, it is SQ, and you guys know SQ costs a shit load of money. Also did you notice the 3 inch coil on those 6 inch subs? Mainly though it's because it's Morel

Incorrect. They happen to have some Rainbow products. Theyre not a dealer, cannot replenish stock and have zero warranty coverage.

Thats not odd...SQ guys pay that plus more ....depnding on what they buy ...

And they also pay alot less.

Hi there,
i'm very familiar with this product as the shop i hang ard pushes a lot of Morel products

Firstly, this is not ur " sub subs", not ur " boom boom" kinda setup,

most of the time, this 6" is used in a 2 way component setup along side the supremo or picollo tweeters from Morel.

In a 2 way system, they sound beautiful!

the SW6 goes pretty low for a 6", giving u a nice clean mid bass punch and it has a very rich mid range.

Its an excellent driver for you SQ folks.

One setup i had a chance to play with had the 9" version in the doors,

5" verions on the A pillars together with the picollo tweeters.

All these were ran actively off alpine's #F1 deck.

For the serious SQ folks out there, they'll know all about this little dude.

its the same as SQ folks asking why would you put 20kws of power with 32 woofers in your car?

sorry buddy but for that price its totally not worth the money.. the CDT ES dyanaudio DLS Helix etc mids are all on the same playing field and cost about 1/4 what they charge... morel is very good, but there way over priced.. there like porshe..

i forgot who makes them but i saw some sick drivers a while back, overhug sliver VC wire copper sleeved pole peace and copper plate on top the topplate.. the le was around .015 if i remember correctly!

don't get me wrong porshe makes very nice cars but nissan does as well.. no its not as elegant but still very nice. Its about performance, not what you can afford to impress people.. things that impress me most are people who make excellent products cost affectly and efficiently... not claim there god and charge what they think...

for instance.. AE(acoustic elegance) makes some of the nicest woofers on the market.. by all means there top of the line, yet john sales them for 250 a 15.. audiopulse make excellent drivers, top line no doubt, but the axis is 650 bucks.. thats 400 more than the AV and the AV is every bit as good...
