I bought a used Bazooka EL8A-HP 8" 100 watt Subwoofer on EBay and can't figure out why it is not working. Here's the deal:
I have the red power wire hooked directly up to the Pos side of the battery in the trunk, and the black ground wire bolted to a good ground. The orange wire is hooked up to the head unit. RCA jack speaker wires are hooked up as well.
This wire setup worked with my other powered Bazooka sub.
Symptoms:
1) Light is not on on the sub.
2) When I take the ground wire off and touch it to ground, it sparks.
3) When I put the inline fuse in the its slot (I just spliced a fuse into the power wire), it makes a small "zap" sound). I have also removed the fuse wire and now have the power direct to the Pos battery side and still no light on sub.
Shouldn't the light come on even with just the power and ground wires hooked up?
Tnaks,
BB
