From all the rave reviews he is given on here, i decided to contact him about installing my equipment that i pulled out of my old car, and wanted a trusted installer to do for me. Instead of telling me he doesn't like to deal with outside equipment he says to me via pm "you have equipment already? Is there somethign wrong with the products I carry?". That response pissed me off very much so, and i refuse to deal with someone who is going to cop an attitude with me, no matter what quality they provide. Then it hit me that this was the same guy i also talked to a few years ago, inquiring about an eclipse head unit. Back then, he freaked out when i started asking him to install one i got at another shop, and was also extremely rude to me. He was much rude that time though, he completely lashed out at me when i told him i heard that i can still get a warranty on my eclipse head unit if it isn't installed by a certified installer, and he accused me of not believing him and basically of being ignorant (and obviously he was wrong, it was under warranty from a year no matter who installs it).
That's great if you guys all rave about him, but it's safe to say that now I'm not going to be buying anything from him, nor having him install anything. I would actually pay more now at this point if i have to, to at least know im not supporting a guy who feels the need to be rude and disrepecting to potential customers. I know Don will read this and I hope he does, because he completely lost a potential customer now, i refuse to be treated like that.
And i am sure he will chime in and there is nothing that he can say to his defense in my opinion. A simple "i do not like dealing with outside equipment" would have sufficed, but instead, i was given a very rude response. I just find it unbelievable that the guy who did this same thing to me years ago pulled it again (i didn't know it was him, because i talked to him through email the first time and didn't know he was on message boards). But i put 2 and 2 together after i found out his name and location. That is all.
PS : Im not upset that he wouldn't install outside stuff, i don't care about that and his policy is his own business. i am upset that he was outright rude to me for no reason
