Why Does My Amp Stay On???

My amp has now been on for about an hour now after I turned my car off. Im so confused on why or how it's on. Its an A8000V. Anybody?????

if he has it hooked to the hot wire on the headunit it will stay on. he needs to hook it to the acc, remote turn-on, or power antena lead

If the external setup is correct, I would look at the amp. Typically the remote terminal is run through a simple transistor circuit that power the amp when the ignition is cut on.

If the circuit goes out, it will cause this problem as well.

My suggestion would be to disconnect the remote wire completely. Is the amp still on? If so, the problem is the amp. If not, look closer to how the amp is externally wired.

Well I unscrewed the remote wire a little bit and the amp shut off, but the remote wire was still connected which was weird. Is there such thing as the remote wire being to tight?? I dunno.....

It sounds like when you unscrewed the terminal, even though the wire was still connected it probably lost the connection enough to shut it off.

Well, it sounds like your amp is functioning properly. Do you have access to a volt meter? I would check the voltage on the remote terminal while the car is turned off. You should have no voltage there unless the ignition is on.

It is starting to sound like the wiring is wrong.

Well it seems to be fine now. Everytime I turn the car off, its going off as well now. Maybe because I just hooked it up, it finally lost the connection or something. Thanks for the help!!

You just had it screwed in to tight. Something inside the amp must have been connected due to this...
