why does my amp keep blowing 60 amp fuses?

That amp is 25 years old. Way past it's prime and obsolete. At best a 400 watt amp running hard. Get a different amp from this century.
this amp is made way better than todays overseas crap! and I never said the amp manual called for a 60 amp fuse. that's just what I was told to use by a Rockford fosgate engineer to use.

"Was" made better. The caps n such inside are well past their operational lifespan. It's blowing the 60a fuse because either you're doing something wrong or because there is something wrong with the amp. That simple. And I know what it is son, I was there when it came out!

for the info that you don't know thatyou should have asked. the inside caps and such have all been replaced at the Rockford company this year.

here's a few pics of what I have set up. I just had the white ground wire hooked up yesterday, and just added the other blue ground just to maybe help. the left block is for my ground and the right for my hot.

I've seen those amps run at some abusive low impedances. They won't be efficient and they won't run cool. Personally I wouldn't be at all surprised if that amp would open 60A fuses at 1 ohm mono, and I would fuse higher. Fusing at 80A would very probably be adequate to prevent fire in the event of catastrophic failure, and IMO if the amp breaks it's not really a big deal because you can buy 500W for under 100$ all day long so you're not really gambling that much.

You're the one that came in here all cocky only to prove you have no idea what you're doing son. I told you facts. You want fantasy. Your amp is good for 400 watts. Your fusing is good for 600 watts. Your wiring is good for insurance claims. It's people like you that have ruined this forum. Your cocky remarks in this thread are the very reason most people who know anything either avoid or get frustrated with. Thus turning them from helping the next guy who actually listens to good advice.

Son!

I came in with a simple question *******! so get your bloomers out of your crack and move on SON!! NEXT!!

anyway. for others that may can help me with this without going crazy..lol.. I took a small piece of 8 gauge wire and stripped the ends and put it in the distribution block. then just turned the head unit up maybe half way and the plastic melted around the wire piece. the amp was warm, but not at all hot. I know, someone's probably going to say "why did you do that?" bla, bla, bla..but I just wanted to try something. any ideas?
