i've got subs because i can't stand not to have them. considering i've had a system for about 11 years, i guess you could call it more of an obsession.

but i guess it's a little different considering that my wife doesn't mind me spending the money(as long as we have it and all bills are paid). she also has let me lower my truck and put 20's on it. i also don't stop her if she wants to buy something, which most of the time she doesn't.

In my opinion alot of songs don't sound complete without extra emphasis on the lower octaves... and i'm not just talking about say Rap and Techno... ever listen to a jazz CD with or without subs... huge difference. It's just the average person(girlfriend) is used to stock or crappy setups that usually are lacking the lower spectrum and make up for it with distortion....so they accept that as how music is supposed to sound in a car.

Besides as mentioned previously it's like an arguement I had with one of my ex's.... why do u honestly need that many Coach bags??

My obsession of music, insanely loud music.I've been to, over 40 rock/metal concerts and I like that type of sound in my vehicle.It's nice just to be able to rock out every now and then.I did a demo for someone who think subs just go boom boom, played their fav. music without, and then with.They want an 8 now.

I honestly can't have my music without one.Like I said, I want to create that feeling of being at a concert.You can't just do that with a pair of nice speakers.You can't feel the kick drum or bass line beating the shit out of your internals with a set of components.

Sometimes I take drives just to enjoy music, to slip away from my troubles for a little bit.

I have been cursed with a loud music sickness ever since my friend played warren g and nate dogg-regulate on his two 12" fisher woofers off of some receiver made in the late 80's when we were 8 years old or so, it created a rush or a natural high to me to hear music nice and loud like that, as said, I have been cursed and spent endless amounts of dollars since recreating the feeling.

I like having a concert in my car, thats why. I roll strictly with my windows up. I hate attention ***** suburb drive-by bass hits. Plus, your system sounds better with your windows up anyway.

i think subwoofers make the music better to listen to IMO....theres just somethings a good pair of components cant do
