Why do such a high % of marriges fail if you live together before the wedding?

I think marriages don't make it these days because people see just getting a divorce as the easy way out and also a lot of people suffer from the 'grass is greener' syndrome when things hit a rough patch thus fucking up any kids involved and leaving a pissed off ex.

That reminds me, I really hate dating chicks who've had divorced parents. Because in one way or another they're slightly screwed up in the head, or at least thats what ive found. Weather it be insecurity, unresonable expectations, no expectations, violence, etc.. compared to the girls ive dated with both parents being married, the divorced kids just have issues and it effects the other people in their life later on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Because people who cohabitate enjoy it so much and get married, and then one or both change, and they say forget it.

I would think a higher % of marriages who do NOT live with each other before marriage break up..
When you live with someone you really learn a lot about the person you are with in regards to what it would be like being with them 24/7 the restof your life.

True living with somebody 24x7 for awhile gives you a picture of what they are like. But don't be suprised if 1 year, 2 years, 5 years down the road after a ring goes on, or they get tired of the charade the true crazy comes out.

Maybe it has to do with regret too. A fresh marriage is fun and exciting. A marriage after living together for 5 years is just another old tired day in the relationship...nothing exciting, just adding a ball and chain to the relationship.

That is what I fear most about marriage...getting bored. How do you stay together for 20 years without getting bored. My parents don't seem bored, but it is because they do different things. Since they spend much of their time apart, they don't get that bored.
