Why do people think SPL scores make their cars "loud"?

I peak anywhere from 40 to 44 hz. Nobody better say anything to me.

My car has a pretty fat peak ~ 37hz too, believe it or not. I could tune for daily and still do damage in the parking lot.

I run 4k in a trunk wall and ive seen 150 on 2k. lulz.

not always, around here half the time when someone says their not after numbers and an argument starts as it did here the comment in quoted in post 64 almost always comes up at some point.

it is usually the daily guys hating spl but it does go both ways.

I will admit that some SPL guys get the big head about numbers. I just don't happen to be one of those guys. I will put braggarts in their place though. But not with my buzz car.

It's not just Best Buy either though. How many shops carry really solid gear? Not many. And 99% of people that are local to them don't want to drop that money anyway. So they get low end stuff and SWEAR it's just as loud and sounds just as good as the high end gear. Most of that is just pride talking though because they spent their hard earned money on whatever they could afford. And I respect that, but don't tell me I wasted my money on the good stuff.

And while I'm on that subject... that is the #1 reason why I hate AudioPipe. AP owners look down their noses at people who spring for real amps and swear they are the smartest people in the world because they spent $200 on a 3k when other spend $400+ on a 2k. but I'm not going to go off on a rant about AP.

Why do people think track times are so important

- your car is so small it weighs nothing thats why its faster.. bleh...

If it is something you really want you can achieve it.. you want the loudest vehicle.. protip.. don't get a trunk car and try to keep it in the trunk and then whine that the other people have it easier..

If you want the fastest car don't get a god damned school bus.. You can put an assload of money but its not gunna happen

this is a hobby that is competitive.. so yes they came up with a way to judge it.. whether strictly loud or sq.. if you aren't concerned with it don't meter.. some do it simply to upgrade the crappy stock system.. fine.. but don't get upset when someone is louder than you because they made a strictly spl vehicle.. they did it for a reason.. to win..

a pro football team isn't going to play everyone so they all have fun.. they play the best way they know how to win..
