Why do people think SPL scores make their cars "loud"?

I am hiting 145 in MECA and 148 in USACi. and I dont think I am that loud anymore.

Dont worry im only doing a mid 50 outlaw so i aint loud either till i get into the up 50s if not a 60

I want to hit a 150 at the headrest. but I dont have the battery bank nor my other alt to do it

hmm well you have the smallest spectrum of music covered.. so.. wheres the rest?

Op its just like racing cars.. you take em to a track for a reason.. this car may seem faster or should be on paper but its not always that way.. hell you could give two different people the EXACT same car and let them tune it and one will be faster.. could do the same with audio..

oh and btw I metered my last setup once just for reference on how loud other setups people have are.. but a 145 at 30hz and a 145 at 50hz aren't the same thing by any means so unless you sit in them you can't judge a car just by a score..

If your not slamming the lowz and sound half decent it ain't car audio, spl and high tuning is for fegs and shouldn't be considered car audio. It's all about playing all types of music not fartting

I have a crx that does a 50 with a single 8 and I can tell you that it's f'n loud loud in there. You guys act like anything over 40hz is like a dog whistle that can't be heard or somthing.

Did you get your feelings hurt at a comp by a small car with less cone or something? Because the OP sounds exactly like all the crying I hear at shows after I do mid 50's with a few 8's. I'll tell you what I tell them... I could plug some of the ports to tune it to 30hz and STILL be louder than you.

142.3 legal on music last time i checked it but after i did some alt mods/battery/more amp power im way above that now... on the other hand

i sat in a 142 with a single 15 going -_- .... go back to mine O_O ... its all in acustics for me

i peak sealed about 47. door open is around 60 .sunroof or window cracked its about 55
