Quality over quantity. A lot of bass is OK as long as it's clean, and balanced with the rest of the system. I laugh at the guys who throw four 15's in their car and run the factory speakers. The sub in my HT will pressurize the room to the point of your ears feeling like they will pop. But it does so in an unassuming way, not via a ton of distortion.

This is what's important. As long as it's clean and balanced, it's all good. That's what I'm striving for right now with my CVXs, but as we all know, Kicker isn't known for SQ at all.
