Why do people put enormous bass in their cars?

Or, I've had a far superior setup in SQ, and SPL. I don't generally expect someone who is a type r nut hugger to realize this though. I'm sure they get loud and rattle your car... I'll stop there.

Id have to say Type Rs are excellent beginner subs and for the price are nice, but ive moved on and wont go back unless i find a type R 12 for like 50$, too many people hate on them for no reason. Not the best but DEFINATLY not the worse, better than someone buying a sony xplod. I hate when i see someone do a build with like 4x sony xplods in a big box thinking they have like the absolute slam mobile becuz they have 4 subs

No, I'd put the type R right up there with the SE's, but to say it was my enclosure (sealed in both occasions) that made me come to my conclusion is absurd. You can't even compare SE's and, IDMAX's.

I've always liked to be able to feel what I'm listening to. Music to me sounds so much better when it's loud and clear vs quite and clear. I love hearing the music literally come alive. There's something about being able to "feel" the music as well as hearing it that is just an awesome experience. If I pull up at a stoplight and my music is turned up it's because I'm into the song, not because I want to piss off the person next to me.

True, i guess my statement was more of a random opinion lol.

Quality over quantity. A lot of bass is OK as long as it's clean, and balanced with the rest of the system. I laugh at the guys who throw four 15's in their car and run the factory speakers. The sub in my HT will pressurize the room to the point of your ears feeling like they will pop. But it does so in an unassuming way, not via a ton of distortion.
