why do I keep on blowing amp fuses

I have a amp that uses 3, 40 amp fuses, I discontected my amp to hook up another amp (to show that it works) I them reconected me amp and when I put the power wire back my amp blew a fuse. No big deal, I went and got some more 40 amp fuses and everyone that I put in has blowen. I power wire was disconcted when I put the fuse in and when I put the wire in you can see the electricity going threw (sparks) then there is a fire looking spark (I think that is where my fuse were my fuse keeps being blown). But why is my fuses are being blown now when I didn't do anything different then before? Could my amp be messing up or destroyed?

I'm doing it right to the amp and I didn't change any of the settings before or after I blew the first fuse (or could it be that it was doing fine before and then I disconected the amp and then reconnected the amp and had all those settings on high (like the gain and stuff) that is the reason that they are being blow). So basically if I turned everything down as low as it can then reconnected everything and set everything back to were it was, should all work?

i dont think that will work, i was gona say maybe the pos & neg on the amp are frayed and maybe a copper stran or 2 are touching.. inspect all the wiring around the amp make sure no breaks in the pos. grounding out.
