Nope - the way I had it typed above was how I had it on eBay's boards - just like everywhere else on eBay the board registration wouldn't support uppercase letters //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Thank you for the link... I know and understand the frequency spectrum the human ear can hear. 1KHz is on the top side of the midrange frequency range, but an improperly installed sub, with or without and including passive or active filtering, will still attempt to reproduce (however poorly) the spectrum of sound we were addressing...I was trying to prove a point in that post and clarify his statement.

-posts on the topic- they **** cuz they have pulp cones and give shitty sq
LOL Pulp paper is still one of the best materials out there to use.... excellent weight to strength ration, relatively cheap and easy to make, very inert material, etc. There's a reason many of the top home audio driver's still use this material when in that relatively stable environment almost any material could be used. What do you consider a good cone material, aluminum? Titanium? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Im afraid Im one of the people who doesn't understand the reason for this thread. I guess Abahn sucks because.... some random kid blew his Abahn while probably abusing it? The fact this person's vc blew is an indication of what exactly? User error most likely. We could show pics of blown MT's, W7, Brahmas, Mags etc all day long.... does this mean they **** also? Or only when an 18 y/o who is clearly new to this stuff blows one? IM sure if this had been about almost any other brand besides Abahn, it wouldn't have taken till page 6 for someone to point this out. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Frequency response is dictated much more by the enclosure size/type/alignment than it does by the raw driver. Stating the sub didn't hit the notes you wanted/expected is more likely a statement of your inability to build the proper enclosure.

With all that being said..... yes, Audiobahn sucks.

Friend of mine bottomed his subs so bad that they would scrape constantly so he gave me them. Wired 'em up in series to the AC mains on a fused outlet...60V a piece at 8ohms = 1800 watts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Being designed for 300rms and getting 900, they fared pretty well actually....for about 10 seconds of serious bass.

Then they began smoking (heavily!) followed by the suspensions giving out and the cones basically flopping around on their coils till finally the coils themselves disintegrated followed by silence. It was a good, safe experiment in overpowering a driver. We did it outside of course with an air-triggered relay, since no one felt like plugging the extension cord in. hehe
