I don't know. Do you feel the black community escapes and never comes back or should the go back and attempt to lift up others. In the white community, the answer is very clear....once you leave, you pretend you never lived there. From what I see on TV ( I don't know any blacks personally that have "made it") it is commonplace to try to go back and rebuild the community with infrastructure improvements, business investments, etc.

I feel that individuals in the black community should disappear once they've made it. The problem is, that even growing up, their parents always taught them to share. In black churches it is "interpreted from the bible" to give back to your community in the name of God. Since there are alot of religious black people, They follow this undeniably. My family is not like that, however. I guess that's only because I'm only 1/16th black. I've always said that If you make it, don't stop to look back. You may have someone following your footsteps.

Sadly, my points don't get answered well. The answers are very complex. Not saying blacks (by virtue of being black) are incapable of answering, they just aren't easy problems.

But they are healthy non-confrontational points. Meaning that ur not attacking black people with generalizations and stereotypes.

Exactly........ You are you, I am me. I'm all about progression, but it is ignorant to think that the past doesn't affect the future in some way. Some chick that was ***** never gets fully over it though she moves on. My only problem is with people who generalize. And I feel a lot of that stems from what is seen on tv and heard in shitty rap songs. RC10Mike thinks that Most blacks are into flashy shit because more than likely thats what hew sees. Probably never sees the black attorney or black millionaire unless they dribbling a ball, taking his order, or album just dropped. I was fortunate enough to see it all. From the dope fiend to the millionaire. I once met the dude who invented the Super Soaker........ black guy.

I'd say that was a marvelous invention.

My past effects me. The past of my family has no effect. They where sharecroppers and box movers. My mom is a lunch room lady. She made her career decisions and I made different ones.

Do you think this attempt to "give back" limits economic growth? I certainly do, but I am bias as this works in the white community...the have's have and have nots can go to hell.

The white culture has this (imo) "look out for yourself" culture and it suits us just fine.

But you see, The black entertainer's "look out for yourself" culture is not productive, as it is just giving more money to the white CEO above them all while trying to "get paid". Instead, they should want to become the CEO.

There's no money in non-violent rap. To me, that's an issue with the parents moreso than the rappers. Rappers are meeting the demands of the marketplace. Perhaps it's the marketplace that should change.
