You know the real reason? Rejection.

You don't wanna get rejected. Once you lose your feelings or expectation of being rejected it's real easy. You're puttin' the pussy on too high of a pedestal...if she doesn't like you or acts uninterested, just move on; it's not a loss.

Once you overcome your feelings of being rejected, the next step is the approach. You may be thinking too hard, pondering what you should say, how you should say it, how to make yourself look better, etc. You just gotta go up to 'em and say the first thing that pops into your mind. Once you do it often, it gets easy. You learn what things you should or shouldn't say, etc.; it becomes second nature.
