I gur-ant-ee you don't know more about "hip hop" than anybody on this site. 2Pac, Jay-Z, Biggie.................they're not hip hop. You might now more mainstream rap, maybe, but probably not. I listen to underground anyway and I'll still say 2Pac was underrated. People say he's good and don't even know why!! They just say it cuz other people say it. Brenda's Baby, America's Most Wanted, Changes, ... all those contradict you trying to say he's all gangsta. The man was sensitive. Go listen to Brenda's Baby. Anyway, you got some leanring to do. AND, as far as staying power, they're dudes that did rap before, and will will be here after Jay-Z, Nas are gone. Unless they blow up, but I doubt it...

Come off your highhorse son..

=BigDrez]I know Hip Hop probably more then almost anyone on this site....and 2pac is top 15 at best.....what he did for the rap game was amazing....but lyrically he was nothing special...he was 2 dimensional....he had no wordplay....very few meta's...and very seldom did he ever used multi's...he was 2 dimensional in the essence of...if his song wasn't deep it was about how "gangsta" or untouchable he was.....2pac portrayed his death through his music for years...so when he finally died the world went apeshit...people confuse controversial with "being the best"....since the world went into an uproar when he died and supposedly faked his death and his music portrayed all of it people claimed him to be the best...if he was still alive he would have been in everybody's top 15 instead of top 3...here's an analogy....you hear a song on the radio...you don't like it....but you keep hearing it...eventually it grows on you and you love it...well people keep hearing 2pac is the best over and over and over again eventually people start believing it when they have no right to to....I respect the fact you relate to his lyrics and thats why he's your favorite...then he should be....this is for the people who just claim him to be the best because everybody else does....Biggie was WAAAYYYYY better....and 2pac could never touch the Depth of Nas or the Consistency of Jay Z...you want a work-a-holic? Jay Z put out 11 solo Albums in 11 years...plus group albums....built his own empire from the ground up without being signed....not to mention all the verses he had from being featured on other artists albums...like I said 2pac to ME is top 15...nothing more....nothing less....
that's all your biased opinion. it's obvious when you say biggie is better than 2pac. while most of us 2pac fan's opinion is 2pac is hands down better than biggie in every aspect. biggie loses hundreds of points for being a fake fat-*** who raps about a lifestyle he never lived until he had money and everyone REAL knows that. true, he had a style, but his words literally don't mean shit. REAL rappers don't focus on their rhyme content.. they focus on the lyrical content and message they want to put across. if you want to listen to what's going on in the streets would u rather hear it from the people ON the streets, or from watching the news on TV.... tupac was more educational in every way. he educated about the streets and what went on in it.. he pointed out the corruption in our society.. he made an example out of himself, fully aware of it... in an early interview with him with MTV he admits he started rapping for the children.. hence, songs like brenda's got a baby and keep ya head up.. he wanted to have a positive effect on communities.. he never took a violent approach at the beginning of his career.. but when he got ridiculed and patronized by the media he became a more "angry" artist if you will.. tupac lived a very controversial life.. he's a very good example of what becomes of poverty. he reminded us that just because we're all living our dandy white-american lives doesn't mean the people in the ghetto hustling for a meal are.. ironically, he is poetic justice.
