I ordered a 250 amp h/o alternator from MechMan.
2005 chevy trailblazer.
had a shop tear apart my car, install the alt, turns out - factory is a 4-pin adapter, they sent me a 2-pin.
per mechman, 2-pin was used for late model 05s and above...anything before late 05 was 4 pin.
the shop who's installing it is calling a local GM shop to see if they have a pigtail? adapter, or something where he can chop off the 4pin, and solder a 2pin on.
im STUCK because:
a.) i need my truck tomorrow, and they can't get the adapter until tomorrow @ noon...and i work tomorrow at 1245. so i have no vehicle, and am ****ed.
b.) if i get my vehicle back, they have to put the stock alternator back in, give my truck back to me, then i take it back and they have to take it back out and put back in the alternator with either the adapter, or i wait until i send it back to mechman, and they send me a replacment.
i'm a little upset (well, very upset) for 2 reasons:
a.) mechman says its not their fault, even though they didn't double check or make any notification to me that early models may have issues with their 2-pin adapter;
b.) refuses to pay shipping back to them, nor cover install costs.
as a customer, what should i expect from them?
