I think our iggnorance is what is keeping us down. But youhave to see this what we are raised around and this is our worst enemy. If you see a dude selling eights with a bad chick on 24's and your twenty working at kmart. Which life is more appealing? The rapping or movies don't do nothing but promote the ish. But if parents do push you then you will do nothing but repeat the cycle. If I had someone to idealize I would of not dumb some dumb ish. But we are lazy, period. Everyone wants a handout. It's like we praying for the after life but beening robbed of our present life. I love my people.

its crazy. Black people are bringing down black people. if you move up in life with a respectable career, u are a sellout to the black community. so really no one is bringing the blacks down but themselves.

Something else I've noticed is how in the news and other media outlet, they make it look as if an OVERWHELMING amount of us are still in the "hood"/in poverty/dangerous people. When in fact there has been quite the increase in our middle class.

Holy ****ing exactly. It makes us look as though we're still underrepresented to the point of helplessness. Are blacks still unequal? You bet your *** they are. Does that prevent you from doing something about it? You bet your *** it doesn't.

People tell me all the time (they only say it once, however) that I act white because I come from a household of two parents who are physicians, am majoring to be an EE and would rather make prototype circuitry instead of get yayoed up, and because I speak in a professional manner so I can be taken seriously. If acting black means that people are justified in calling me slurs, ****, I'll bleach myself any day. What people don't realize is that black is only a skin color, nothing more. It is not a personality, it is not a way of life or speaking. To tell a black person that they act or speak white is blatant backhanded racism.
