Who's running Pirated software

So my comp science teacher is trying to freak everybody out about stealing movies, software (windows mostly), and downloading pirated programs. He made it seem like they select a few people and put them in jail for 25+ yrs. It got me wondering. How many people are running pirated programs, and how often do people get busted for copyright infringement?

Lol in all reality, if anyone has ever listened to a downloaded MP3 or has ever downloaded an MP3 that was a copyrighted song they have pirated something...

i'd say more like 99.99%

But i cracked all my software myself =) so its not really pirated

i have only paid for one program on my computer.

only time i pay for a program is if the code is immaculate.

the rest is all pirated.

i agree with this. if you are using pirated software to make a profit then you should pay for it. if your using it just to use it for non commercial purposes. there is no lost revenue.

I knew someone who did something like that. He would sell CD-Rs but if someone wanted him to fill the CD-R with something then he'd do it for free, he was charging like $1 a CD-R
