35 and getting back into it after around a 5 year hiatus. Glad I kept a lot of my old school stuff, though I'm pretty excited about my newest set up. Biggest issue I see today is WTF happened to nice head units? Pioneer is pretty much the only real nice HU you can get now?

The older you get, the more resources you have access to so the better set ups you can have. However, I guess you have more bills at the same time so the more income is offset by higher bills.

Wait till you have kids, get married, have a mortgage, two car payments, student loan debt, credit cards, trying to save for retirement one day, etc. I felt rich when I was 28 and I made $50k a year but I had no car payment and no one to support. Four years later and my how things have changed and I make twice as much money now lol. Don't get me wrong, I still love car audio and been doing it since I was 16. I just don't have as much disposable income to do it.

Tell me about it 37, 3 kids. Heck I have been trying to pay $40 to have a box designed for me for 3 weeks. Every day I come home it is something else, sports camps, act prep classes, tomorrow get to go spend about $100 on gear for the daughter to play softball. My boys keep trying to split my system up to put half in each of their pickups(NOT GOING TO HAPPEN).

42 and Wifey is 40 and she is running Brand new 7515 thunder woofs off a Rubi 2.600 DAILY. I mean she finds excuses to take rides! I'm still installing, fabricating and building daily. But I'll stick to all my pre-'93 a/d/s thank you very much.

Pioneer makes the best all around headunits IMO -- this is coming from someone who switched off of using an alpine. The alpines are very nice headunits, don't get me wrong, but pioneers offer more for price-to-performance, which is a big thing for the people who don't have much cash (such as myself).

33 here. Never stopped. Grew up with tower of speakers and amplifiers. I have subs in the cars, garage, living room, basement, and spares when needed. My 4 & 5 yr old daughters like bass reproduction ( I am very cautious of hearing damage, but they appreciate full range reproduction and notice when bass is lacking). They have a receiver and speakers in their bedroom. They also like The Chemical Brothers.

Course, I live with music and work with systems personally and professionally.
