So I'm a dumbass...was changing the batteries for the laser on my new Springfield XD40 tonight and popped one off in the house:crap:

I took all the precautions, pulled the clip, cleared it etc. The laser sight just got added and I was checking the fit of where I carry so I loaded the clip. My kids came in and I guess I got complacent and charged it thinking the clip was out. Popped one off angled down to the 1st floor of my house toward the outside. No damage but the bullet hole in my bedroom and a through hole in my garage. Glad it didn't go near the next house or hit my GTO.

Scared the shit out of the kids and the dogs. So once again I'm a dumbass

um yea, I knew a guy that was cleaning his rifle and had the butt down by his feet, shot his shoulder... He was military too...

it doesn't matter if you are the person who made the gun.. you get careless you get hurt.. he got lucky here.. the bullet could have went anywhere..

My buddies little brother did this with a 22 when we where going out shooting... Wasnt paying attention and put one into the ceiling...

My uncle did that when cleaning a pistol. Shot my other uncle in the head but wasnt enough to kill him, he laid in the hospital bed for weeks while his brain swelled and eventually bled to death on the inside.
