ya it was only 7 here this morning and now its warmed up to 12 lol. im gonna start another thread but anyone else have problems with the laser on there ps3? ive read the diodes on them are cheap and blowing faster than hell. ive gone through 3 already and the quanity of the oem from japan is almost all gone. now its all cheap white clips from china that only last if your lucky 24hours. ya for another thread

i went through one in like 9month after the launch. Sony sent me a brand new ps3 + they took care of every shipping charge. still under warranty?

no its past warranty date. you should take a closer look cause if they sent you a "new" ps3 its usually refurb. also your new warranty is only for 3months on "new" even if your still under the first year. also i have upgraded hdd and would lose alot of my data unless i put original which is also broke back in. and since my warranty is gone it cost 150 to "fix" and no guarantee you get your original back. second option is return to bestbuy but same situation happens and most likely will not get original back. im gonna just buy a new ps3 with the newer laser as it seems to be more reliable and swap back hdd.

A friend of mine bough one at walmart and return his defective one. All you got to do is heat the little "never opened" sticker with a heater then slowly remove it without breaking it. swap the console, put the sticker back and they won't be able to not refund you...
