these things sound amazing and get hella loud.

i wanted to start a thread for everyone runing SSD's, just to give input and so on about there set up and how they like it.....

i have one 15 SSD with coppers coils. Im not 100% impressed with it right now but i think its more the box than the sub. other than that, yes they are great subs and i dont plan on getting rid of mine any time soon.

My buddy had 16 SSD 12s.... That was rediculous. It got really loud but if you turned it down a little bit, they sounded soooooo clean.

What is the SSD considered, their groundpounder? I know the Q is their SQ sub, the BTL the SPL sub, the BL fits between those 2, but what is the SSD aimed at?

pretty much a BL with less power handling and lower cost. just your everyday "street" sub

BL's are WEAK woofers in my use of them

i had a 18 in my van it go ****ing loud and still was clean sounding, now its in my buddies s-10 and it sounds ok but needs a bigger amp on it

i wouldnt call them weak, at least not mechanically. the suspension is stiffer than hell (more so than the btl) and doesnt like to break in, and they use the same coil as the btl.

but i would call them inefficient because they just take so much power to really get moving.
