but what confuses me is the wifi... is that any different than a wireless connection?

naw the same...just make sure that its b/g and the right pcmia card (should be iirc your laptop could take all them)

I just try to stick with names ive heard good things about so you get good driver support and shit like that.

yeah i would check out this one...what i got..because you can just plug it in as an access point..like if you go to a friends house and they have a connection you want to use wirelessly just plug it into their modem and then plug their computer into this thing..works great...really ****ing small easy to pack..i piad $59 not on sale at a B&M..so im sure you could get it cheaper if you looked around online.

and yeah wifi = wireless..just make sure its all b/g
