Right after Christmas expect someone to post about the awesome subs his dad gave him for a gift.

But yeah, I don't attempt to listen to the employees there. My cousin works at BB and he couldn't wire the subs to the amp correctly for his own sake. Wanting to run 1200w rms to each sub... idiot.

You cant judge a book by its cover, best buy has some of the best installers on their employee list. I had a instructor at mobile dynamics that worked at best buy part time. Yes i will admit best buy hires some real retards but at the same time they hire really good installers too. Just depends on the store and location your at. Don't judge all of us because your cousin is a dumbass.

i bought my CVR's from CC cuz it was buy one get one free. they want 400 for 2 CVRS in a kicker box where i bought 2 for 150 and can get a better box made for less.

Yah i went into circuit city a couple weeks ago for the first time in a long while. I just laughed when they showed the prices of their car audio. seriously...is it that hard to go on the internet and realize that you are getting completely ripped.

all the "installers" at BB and CC do average jobs, they dont do anything terrible, but they won't build you a good system, the salesmen their don't know their *** from their elbow, but usually there's one or two installers or know a little bit, and can wire an amp a deck a sub and speakers without doing anything to special, mostly idiotic salemen, is their problem, and terrible prices, and mediokre installs.

You can't generalize all of the installers. At the Best Buy I used to work at there were 2-3 guys that I would trust with my car (and I don't let just any one mess with my car). We actually had the senior for the department talk to his supervisor and the GM about doing custom boxes. They okayed it so now that store will build a customer a custom box if they want. One of the installers has an EE degree too.

Our installers are also allowed to do custom work. We did a fiberglass box for a couple of Polk Momo 8's in a new wrangler the other day.

Good question. I didn't ring the guy up, so I have no idea. I work tomorrow, so I will ask one of the installers who worked on it.

I used to hate those customers. I worked in the computer department and expensive doesn't always mean the best. Especially with computers as we would match those up based on the customers's needs, but hey more money for the store.

Well, I didn't feel like it was necessary to make a new thread, but I was out running some errands today and I drove by a Sound Advice (Tweeter) and decided to stop in. So, I'm in the audition room listening to some of the nicer Focal's, JL's, and Polk components... the guy walks in introduces himself and does the whole what are looking for thing. I really did want to get a chance to play around with the Alpine 205 in dash, but I asked if I could get a little demo of some of the components and a pair of W7 8's and then a single W7 12 in a ported enclosure. Well as he is running down the line of comps and every time a heavy bass note hit something in the room fell apart. First to go was the Polk crossover cover, next was the JL ZR tweeter frame thingy, and then grill of the Focal K2's went. At the end I looked at the guy like WTF is going on here. I joked with him and said "I hope your installations are of better quality than the installs in this room." Anyways, it might of been me, but I wasn't really impressed with the JL W7's (and I am a JL sub owner). For as much hype as they seem to get, they didn't sound that great or seem to get too loud.
