I knew you might be drawn in here.

I have an excel file that I created. I input net volume, area of port, tuning, drive displacement and it outputs port length. I also have other formulas for figureing volume displaced by port and sub. It also considers max dimensions that can be changed to get to the right net volume. It's very hard to explain.

I use that to get close.

Then I open sketchup and start designing. Once the designs "rough draft" is done, I check the volume. If it is off, I figure out how much I have to shrink the width. This is generally between 1/4" to 3/4". Then I recheck net volume.

And no no, I wasn't doubting you, I was just wondering. Most people seem to think that bassbox is the wave of the future where you just plug shit in and get magic, but it doesn't work like that.

I too am drawn to enclosures. 90% of my time is spent strictly in the enclosure section.

That will work better. I talk to Kyle at tc sound and he said if I go 4cu.ft with 30hz I will get a 6db peak. I tool him I want to go low and deep. He said 26-27hz. They why I wanted 26hz.

Sorry. I don't know.

I can design, but as far as telling you whether or not sub "x" will work good in box "y", I can't tell you that.
