i think that it is a good thing there are mp3's. People can listen to artists songs before they buy the cd

How many records have you bought that there's only been one or two good songs and the rest is absolute crap? I have many of those

yea, i pirate music, as i do movies and games, but not because i can't afford to buy the music, movies and games, but because there is a lot of CRAP out there, and i dont want to spend my money on a NON-REFUNDABLE music cd, dvd or pc game. i call it screening. there are things i will buy before i screen them, then there are things i will never buy nor screen, however, there are some iffy things to screen before spending the money on it.

on average, cd's usually have a couple or so GOOD songs, and then a bunch of filler crap (i know, there are exceptions), i dont think its worth speding $15 on a couple songs, same as i dont want to buy a pc game that should run on my computer because i exceed the requirements for it, yet it doesn't run, there goes $50 and my time.

i dont like those cheap a$$es that never buy the product, even though they liked it after downloading, thats just wrong, and thats why pirating is bad.

i agree with slick...who wants to pay $15 for a couple good songs? definatly not me...we're rippin the industry? who the hell should make millions and millions of $$ just because they can sing, or they can come up with some lyrics? they make a profit off of every cd that is bought, once you figure all that out, they make millions off about 20 songs, which is usually about 2 that you actually listen to, there's exceptions for some people, but not many...even if they lose millions of customers because of these p2p apps. there is still people that buy the cd's, millions, so when they say "the music industry is taking a raping," look at all the $ they are still getting out of it, we're the ones getting *****...just my opinion...and yes, i rob music...

guys, remember: its not those big musicians and groups that are taking a hit (they arent making as much, but still a ton), but its the small artists trying to make it big. every just d/ls their music and they never get big sales and they lose...

Guess I am once again in that small percentage. I spent $200 this weekend on music and I couldn't be happier with my choice. But then again I either dl a few songs or use one of those listening stations before I buy. Personally for me, since he advent of napster I have spent more money on music then I ever would have. When you download an entire album and listen to it a lot and get enjoyment out of it you should toss a few bucks towards the artist. Now with the advent of applemusic.com you can dl just one song for 99 cents. I do agree that cd's are overpriced though. I can buy cdr's for ten cents a peice so the industry it getting them much cheapier probably. I understand there are production costs and promotion costs if it's a big name. I really don't think an artist should make 30mil day one their album is out, 10 percent or less of that seems more reasonable. That is just my 2 cents

actually I heard an interview of linkin park about this very issue. they said, that it helped to get there name out there and actually increased their sales. small djs, can't sell records period for a reason. they aren't good, or they aren't known. buy some people getting their name out there and realizing what they can do can actually help. thanks my take.

I'm not voting on this because there is no hybrid pick. it's either your ALL for pirating or your not, but I'm kinda mediocre i have my share of both sides... what can I say? I like my music, there is never enough of it XD
