who makes the best caps?

we can always go back and forth about caps vs. the big 3. but hell do em both and have the best of both worlds. and if u have a sick enclosure the caps look good and when u pop the hood u have a sick looking electrical system.

I'm not saying caps work or don't work, as mine does pretty much nothing for me. The stinger ones have better internals and would work better than say a cheaper one such as a poweracoustik one like I have.

The Stinger's have less resistance and would charge quicker and last longer compared to the same farad capacitor of a different brand. They're also expensive, so they must do something a little more.

Well, if its more expensive, it must be better.......

Brand name means nothing to the final price, does it?

Yeah, like fill the marketing director's pocket, because they convince people of that...

Take a $10 industrial-surplus electrolytic cap, and get a $70 "audio" capacitor, cut them open, and show me that the internals are really all that better. Are they using "audio-grade paste" for the electrolyte in the more expensive cap?

And as for the resistance, well, ESR is ESR no matter what the price is or who makes it.

This is very similar to the differences between "audio power wire" and welding cable...if someone can prove that the more expensive copper really does something different, it would be news to me.

That's pretty much what I got my cap for, looks.

Why would they (audio companies) sell capacitors for hundreds of dollars then. I'm not saying they're worth it, at all, because they're not.

As for the ESR and other internals, there are different types, and i'm sure there's a difference.

i study business...not advanced though...but the brand thing is thrash...i mean it is not because it is of a particular brand means that it is better than others...its because the makers of these big brands throw more money into advertising etc...

i would love to give an example but im a lazy **** right now...problem with large brands is that you are paying for that label and hardly anything for the actual product...

point made is that caps are caps...

this sounds like a good answer
