who knows their audiobahn???

Originally posted by RMKrider1 Just curious......What subs and amplifier was this done with? I've had very little experience with audibahn but I've yet to be impressed by them (although 147 on a line-x is impressive)
The equipment i used was:

JBL 1200.1

Audiobahn 1200Q

big-ass ported box (plans at http://www.geocities.com/spawn571ko/competition.html )

snova031 is right when he says they're very picky about the box they're in. For SPL purposes, they need at least 4cuft and port area equal to or slightly greater than the cone area of the subwoofer.

Yes, I was being a dick....i thought that was pretty obvious.

Just because you have no idea how to operate or install a subwoofer to perform to the best of its ability doesn't mean it *****. It means that you have a lot to learn and that you shouldn't talk **** about something you know very little about. Okay, I'm done being a dick now.

PS....what was this guy's question anyway?

Lol, he hasn't asked it yet...
BTW, ranger, how in the hell did you fit that big box in your truck?!?!?!?!?!?!

Did you put it in the bed?

My friend has a reg cab 99 ranger, we are doing a box for 2 10" ED K's, ~1 cube each, and its gonna be a tight ass fit...

Elementary my dear snova031!

Take out the passengers seat and beat the box into place with a rubber mallett.

sorry i havent been on the site for a couple days...ok heres the question...my friend has a 94 f-150 and he wants to put 2 (sorry not sure on the type yet he doesnt kno) 10 in. behind his seat. I'm not sure if he has enough room or not and if he does do u have ne idea on what box measurements I would use cuz i think its gonna be quite a squeeze but i could be wrong........however i do remember that the subs are 400 rms if that helps and i told him to run them with the JBL 600.1 but ne other idea's do tell cuz i've never worked with them so i'm in the dark with them???

sorry for the wait on the question

The subs are the 1051 series. If you're going sealed, a 600.1 would drive them just fine. With a ported box, you could probably use the 600.1, but you'll need to be very careful with the gains. Those subs are very easy to blow....

As far as the box size, I have no experience with '94 f-150's, so I'll need to know how much space you have to work with before I can suggest any dimensions. Measure the width behind the seats, the depth (from the back wall to the back of the seat at the top and bottom) and the height from the floor of the cab to where you'd like the top of the box to be. Once you give me that info, I'll draw up some plans for you.

thanks loneranger...i'll try to get those measurements tomorow and post them then...but im planning on a sealed box....thanks for the help
