Who is the most popular band ever?

who would you say is the best drummer ever then?I don't know about best (gotta be up there anyway) but my favorite is Tomas Haake from Meshuggah, the guy is crazy.
refer to my post

all these guys post these new metal drummers...which is what i listen to mind you....but most of them are garbage and couldn't play half the shit like buddy rich, keith moon, neil peart, tony royster jr, the list goes on...phil collins is AMAZING //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Neil Peart is the best drummer ever //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
j/k i know what you mean man. I've been drumming for about 11 years now, its just hard to explain to people that theres so many different genres of drumming you can't pick one....but if i did...i'd go with ed shaugnessy
?uestlove>all With Travis Barker second.

i would of course never say the BEST but.....

as far as blow your brains technical drummers....

Much of my inspiration has come from Elvin Jones OF COURSE.... But all the others!!!

Just look at Frank Zappas musicians... OMG!!!

--vinnie Caluiata

---Terry Bozzio

---Chad Wackerman

To name a few....

Phil Collins was a great left handed drummer... BUT his substitute.. CHESTER THOMPSON (WHO WAS ALSO A ZAPPA PROTEGE) is about as solid as it gets.

I guess we can go on. Think about GENE LAKE!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!! he has been holding down a bunch of NYC guys down for a while!!!

on his own,, as a studio guy and constantly touring...

Back to rock!!!!!

i studied for a time with Kenny Aronoff... He was amazing and cool to live in the same town where his initial contact with the industry was.. Bloomington Indiana with John Mellancamp. That gig ended and kenny actually requires 2000 dollars per hour for his studio time... WHY??? because he can READ music.. CAN SIGHT READ MUSIC and is solid on a first take...

These guys are REAL drummers.

The drummers that a lot of argumentative people might bring up might be great drummers (within the constraints of the project they are involved in) no matter how huge... But the argument must be made for who is REALLY the better drummer...

So great there are young aspiring drummers here.

Bunkerking09...... you need to hit me up... I have a lot of excellent books,, sheet music and the such i need to get rid of... I hate to let it go but i have to go back to work in africa and cant take it with me... ONLY V-DRUMS this time my friend.. Hit me up... Also have a sexy 1976 ludwig kit and a more recent premier kit i might have to let go... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I am not half the drummer I want to be currently. However, I hate it when wankers wank off metal drummers simply because they ***** double bass and blast beats.

My friend says for drumming that I should focus solely on the high hat and snare/bass pedal. It gets so boring doing that, no matter how fast.

As for the question.

Beatles

Zeppelin

Pink Floyd

Metallica

Celine Dion

Michael Jackson

Elvis

Rammstein is not at all anywhere near the league of the turnout/following any of these artists pull(ed).

I hope this list is not by order of importance. Regardless of how many babies he held over balconies, That crazy somebish was making people faint. He is the greatest black entertainer of all time as well as white entertainer of all time.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Only benefit of the doubt I can give Elvis is the fact that music was not as accessible then as it is now. No pay per views, and concerts viewed around the world. He may have been able to sell out stadiums too.

MY MAN!!!!

I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND HOW FRUSTRATING THIS MIGHT BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ENOUGH TO DRIVE ANYONE CRAZY!!!!!

The thuth is.. to be a good drummer you need to focus and practice the same way a pianist would,, or a bas player.. or a saxophonist would or any other instrumanatilist would..

Drum rudiments are to the drummer the same as scales are to the "non percussive instrumentalist." musician.

We need to learn them and perfect them.... GRANTED.... it is BORING as hell but it trains your hands to do what your brain says...

Also... as a drummer it is important to know how all the other instruments worlk. I apologise if this is redundant but when another player calls out a key... or a scale progression... you should understand.. Also.. you should theoretically be able to read piano music... trumpet music... etc..... Im sure you have been told this...

GOOD LUCK DRUMMING!!!!!

I'd like to understand music more. I took a class about electronic music, which was mainly an introduction to using the equipment and such. Learned a lot in just a few months there.

And as for Lamb of God mentioned earlier. I will politely disagree with that. Biggest assholes I've ever seen live. Ever. I don't give a **** how "metal" they think they are. They were annoying, and just trying to be badass. Was sad.

And no, the list wasn't in importance. Just thinking of them as I typed.

Sorry, I have talked to a few German people and they all pretty much say that Rammstein is a joke, they aren;t very popular and they aren't even considered that good over there. As for #1 most popular it is the Beatles and its not even close.
they were loved untill there last album thats when a good amount of there fans said they sold out

Dave Lombardo FTW!

And I heard it was Garth Brooks. Guess I was wrong sort of.

And as for Rammstein. I think Europeans will watch anything. I was in Vienna last month and went to the largest outdoor concert in the world. The place was packed and the music was so bad it made me die a little inside.
