Who here eats crawfish?!?

thats a lot of shit. we use the gas burner with like a 30gal pot. get the water hot, add the crab boil and let it boil for a minute or so (while washing the crawfish with salt and water) then fill the basket with the crawfish, and little red potatoes and half ears of corn. drop the basket in for i think it is 5min (that may be for shrimp) and then pull the basket, let it drain and dump it on a table.
crack open a beer and get to it!
yeah it is alot of stuff but good food takes time . and if you follow that recipie they will be some of the best you ever tasted. im half coon *** and a professonal chef so i am confident in my crawfish recipie

Mobile, home of the famous leprachaun.

People here say crayfish. They are only crayfish when you are a little kid and catch them in the creek for fun. When you eat them they are crawldads. But there aernt alot of places around that have them. Most of the small indepent places steam crabs. Bmore is about an hour and a half away. Alot of times we will get up in the AM, drive down, pick up a bushel, drive back and cook them. Nice afternoon/evening of picking crabs and drinkin beer.

I actually had crawfish... In CHINA! They were just as good as when I got them in New Orleans, Mississippi, or here in Vegas.

The had about 100,000,00 of themoutside on the curb, dividing them up and selling to the locals. You go into the place and they give you plastic gloves and about a HUGE bowl of them for $3!!! It was great!!

I love crawfish, **** shrimp.

i would die without crawfish.

onions, oranges, celery, habeneros, crushed peppers, asian chile paste, salt, sugar, and of course the orange powder stuff in the bag.

cant forget garlic butter dippin sauce.

I've had a ton of langostino in Mexico.

I really only eat them when they are BIG.

The small ones are like a tease.. sorta like eating pistachios..

No, Langostinos and Crawfish are not the same creature.Crawfish are freshwater crustaceans that are related to, and look a lot like a miniature version of a lobster.

Langostino is actually Spanish for "prawn", but it is not a prawn at all. Langostinos are actually Squat Lobsters, which are not really lobsters, but a relative of the crab.

Then there are Langoustes, which is a name for Spiny Lobsters, also known as Crayfish or Crawfish!

SO... Langostinos are different from Crawfish. Langoustes are the same as Crawfish.

Clear as mud?

It's a crazy crustacean world out there!

buddy just came back from around Lafayette and brought some sacks of crawfish with him...

had a boil yesterday... some good stuff... been a while since i have been to a crawfish boil... seeing how he is cajun makes for a different atmosphere with it all...

love crawfish. had some a few months back cook louisiana style, good stuff.

when i was a kid, i use to come out to the lake and catch them with some raw chicken tied to a string.

Im sry but if you think crawfish in china is the same as crawfish in the south then you have some serious ****in problems dude.....and for the guy that thinks shrimp isnt over used..pray for you because you have no knowledge of the subject.

If one wants TRUE crawfish and the TRUE taste of them then they need to visit either Louisianna or Mississippi....Alabama and Florida will do just fine but the majority is found in LA and MS. Seafood is a southern thing and will always be an SOUTHERN thing...yankees cant compete with our culture...

but we won the war

china imports most of the crawfish we use here in the states when they are out of season. like the frozen stuff that every restaurant uses to make gumbo year round. so in all reality china is the crawfish capital of the world

yankee's may have won the war but our culture will still kick yankees ars! and I would never consider china the crawfish capitol nor have I eaten chinese crawfish..
I don't know how Chinese crawfish (the raw product) could = local crawfish that are alive and well. Furthermore, the best crawfish are cooked by drunken southerners. The more drunk the more better.
