Who Here Collects Cards?

i quit collecting about 7-8 years ago. i tried to get ateast 1 card from every hall of famer i could think of. this pic is just a very small portion of my baseball card collection. got a lot more rookie cards from the 80's.

just in case you can't see in the pic from left to right is:

ozzie smith rookie, bob gibson, harmon killabrew, brooks robinson, hank aaron, kirby puckett rookie, al kaline, ken griffey jr. rookie, mark mcgwire rookie, tony gwynn rookie, carl yastremski, and roberto clemente

very nice collection man. Nice Clemente card!

too bad Griffey got injured so much...he had a shot of breaking Aaron's record

you just reminded me........I need to find his Score rookie card....its a PSA9 (first graded card I purchased)

Cards aren't valued near as much as they used to be in the late 90's. I have 20-25 5,000 count boxes. Some of my collection's highlight's include

86 Fleer Jordan RC

88-89 BKB set w/ Pippen, Jordan, Reggie Miller and Rodman all graded PSA 9

400 or so Michael Jordan cards

I sold off a bunch on eBay in early 2000, including a 5,000 ct box of pre-1960 Topps baseball commons and semi-stars. I wish I would have kept those //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i have a decent collection of football cards from the late 70's and early 80's. dont really collect them. my older brother gave them to me when i was about 12 and i just kept them. had them since. maybe one of these days i'll actually take pics of them and try to find out how much they are worth. but for now they will stay in the fireproof safe in the ziplock bag.

i started buying them again a few years ago when the lebron and carmello cards were worth bank....but thats the only reason....plus it got too expensive.....i didnt realize packs of cards went up to $80-$100 a piece....so ive basically got a sh*t load of high end cards minus the lebrons and carmello's that i sold.

i remember when id buy a good pack for like $6 back in the day, and id get good cards half the time cause id figure out the odds left in the box
yeah now a decent pack will run you $10-$15.....and all the inserts are way too common now unless it is a numbered card.
