Who else likes to Fish?

I used to have a little 15' skiff with a 40hp Merc on it.. We were poling a flat looking for snook busting through the mullet schools, and here comes a 7+ foot Bull Shark. Hooked into that fawker and he pulled the boat around the flat for a good 20 minutes before the hook finally straightened out

yea I didnt say anything about the bass b/c I dont have one over 7 yet and I should. Sharks where our house is in Beaufort get annoying when your not trying to catch them but they bite any ways. My biggest was caught while Cobia fishing under a huge bridge with live eels...I was so excited and thought it was a Cobia for the entire 30 min. fight.....all the excitement for nothing but a lousy shark

Big fish of the Eufala tournament. 4.25lbs

Nice one.

I used to catch 5+ pounders.

But then they started developing where we fished.

So... yeah. I'll be lucky to catch a 2 pounder now a days. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I hate Miami's development.

yea i have caught some cobia as well, i only live 45 mins from boca grande and only 30 mins from punta gorda charlotte harbor so i do alot of fishing and i have caught several tarpon and the ones i landed never took time to get pics of them except a few wanted to get them free as soon as i could

yea thats wat i meant u give the line to them basically u know wat i am saying haha, but i mainly just like to fish for snook early in the morning on the mangroves on high tide and then late in the evening right before the sun goes down i fish low tide on the flats when the water goes out alot on full moon for tailing redfish and lots of snook, because when the tide drops alot they cant go in the backwaters

Try fishing the west coast of Florida on a $500 guided trip for Permit, and big *** jew fish (Goliath Grouper) eat half of them..

Here's a jew fish:

That one pictured is tiny... The Florida record was like 600+ pounds.

Here's a Permit:

They get about 40 poundd, sometimes a little bigger...

thats awsome, i was in south africa and i wanted to catch a big fella, but weather did not permit, did see some of these though, they sure are scary even if your in a cage, they were about 10-15 footers,
That would be awesome. I'd love to go to South Africa

Nice one.

It's the same way here. We used to catch 8+ pounders in a residential lake, until they build a developement around it, and used the lake for irrigation. There isn't ANY fish in there now... Hell, last time we went there the property managment told us no fishing was allowed.

Do you go Peacock Bass fishing? Last time I was down south I had a fishing pole and stopped at a little drainage ditch/canal and threw a Senko worm and was getting some nice sized Peacocks.

i have never been fishing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
Really? It's actually pretty fun. Its all about your first experience. If you have a successful first time then it'll turn you on to keep fishing. Hit me up and we'll pick up some dynamite. That will insure your first time fishing to be a blast.

I envy you guys out there for the fishing possibilities. Here in CA, it's pretty weak. I hit the local lakes often and the ocean coast once in a while but there's not much to offer. We got the lake usual. Catfish, Trout and Stripe bass is about all there is.

If there are any local guys that fish, hit me up and we'll exchange fishing spots //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Here's a few pictures of the things i caught this past month.

**** Cobia fishing... Last time we caught one it was gaffed and as soon as it hit the deck it went nuts. I have scars on my legs and foot from that bastard.

the only tarpon I have ever seen hooked jumped completely over our boat and shook the hook out
They have really hard mouths. You need to use circle hooks, or set the hook hard as hell.
