Who else likes to Fish?

topwater period man one of the best ways and most fun to catch snook and reds are topwater use a spit n image or a top pup and just walk the dog, and i have also caught alot of reds off the old trust gold spoon haha, and doa jerkshads and shad tails by doa rootbeer and chartuse are known the one of the best colors for reds along with electric chicken jerkshads are good too, and for a sandy bottom use a jig head but for charlotte harbor i have to use a weighted worm hook and rig weedless, since the water is only about 12 inches or less the water they are in, and if there is no wind at all i throw it weightless and work it about 2 inches below the surface and reds kill the soft plastics, you can also throw shrimp or live bait like pinfish or threadfins, reds love pinfish and crabs as well when they are tailing they are eating crabs and shrimp, you can also try the gulp shrimp dont use it too much but had a lil luck on it
x2

thanks for the advice Im going to try that out. The fishing reports tell me I am going to catch a limit but Im not going for another 2 weeks. Hopefully the bite will still be on like it is. Bedtime Peace
my most rec for reds are spoons, top dog, crabs, and a few soft platics. the guy above pretty much hit it on the head and you'll be fine with all of those in murky water.

never been fishing for reds anywhere north of the coast so Im curious how itll go but you can limit out in the louisiana marsh if you know the spots like us:D and Im not talking about little reds either, Im talking 15+lbs

I like fishing!

lol cheater!

I love fishing... No tournaments or anything really (some local crap but...)

I did catch a "decent" Northern a few weeks back, little over 3ft and about 20~ pounds. not great considering how MASSIVE tehy get but that was in Palo, IA in the Cedar River, biggest i know of around here anyways..

Other than that I got an 8lb walleye out of Lake McBride in Solon, IA then a 6lb walleye and 30lb~ cat out of Lake Redrock in Knoxville, IA. A few years back when we had a decent flood we went to sme backwaters down in Knoxville and caught a good 15+ crappie weighing over 2lbs each along with a few dozen around 1lb~ good eatin for sure! now i catch and release most of the time though unless someone is with me that wants ot clean em up and everything...

Thinking when i get back from my army duties a couple of us might head back up to Okaboji but IDK...
